Abstract

Permasalahan sampah di lingkungan sekolah masih menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan lingkungan yang dapat memengaruhi kenyamanan dan kesehatan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara ketersediaan tempat sampah dengan perilaku membuang sampah sembarangan pada siswa di SD 100 Kendari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 31 siswa kelas IV dan V. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai p-value sebesar 0,011 (p<0,05), yang berarti terdapat hubungan signifikan antara ketersediaan tempat sampah dengan perilaku membuang sampah sembarangan pada siswa. Semakin baik ketersediaan tempat sampah, maka semakin baik perilaku siswa dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyediaan fasilitas tempat sampah yang memadai penting untuk mendukung perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat di lingkungan sekolah.
