Abstract

Boraks merupakan zat toksik berbahaya, ketika masuk ke dalam tubuh maka terbentuk radikal bebas yang menyebabkan stress oksidatif. Kulit buah naga merah memiliki kandungan senyawa seperti flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin dan saponin yang dapat menurunkan stress oksidatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efek terapi ekstrak kulit buah naga merah terhadap kadar MDA hati, SGOT dan SGPT darah tikus yang diinduksi boraks sebesar 20 mg/kg BB. Penelitian ini menggunakan empat kelompok uji yaitu kontrol negatif dan tiga kelompok perlakuan dengan pemberian ekstrak kulit buah naga merah dosis 0,5; 1,0 dan 2,0 g/kg BB selama 7 hari. Analisis data menggunakan uji One Way ANOVA dan Uji Post Hoc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada pemeriksaan MDA hati dan SGPT terjadi penurunan signifikan (p<0,05) terhadap kontrol pada kelompok perlakuan 2 dan 3. Penurunan signifikan kadar SGOT terhadap kelompok kontrol terjadi pada semua kelompok perlakuan. Pada perlakuan 1 kadar SGOT dan SGPT masih berada diatas nilai normal meskipun telah diberi terapi ekstrak kulit buah naga. Dosis terbaik pemberian ekstrak kulit buah naga yang mampu menurunkan kadar MDA hati, SGOT dan SGPT yaitu dosis 2 g/kg BB. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya dapat dilakukan analisis terhadap profil hematologi atau parameter fungsi ginjal sebagai biomarka pendukung lainnya
