Abstract

ABSTRAK

Gout arthritis ialah merupakan penyakit degeneratif yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar asam urat dalam darah manusia sehingga terbentuk kristal monosodium urat yang mengendap di persendian dan menyebabkan nyeri yang meradang, jika nyeri yang dialami tidak segera ditangani akan mengakibatkan gangguan terhadap aktivitas fisik sehari-hari. Salah satu terapi non-farmakologi pada pasien gout arthritis adalah pemberian kompres kayu manis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas kompres kayu manis terhadap penurunan intensitas nyeri akut pada lansia dengan gout arthritis di Panti Sosial Weda Jara Mara Pati. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah asuhan keperawatan studi kasus. Partisipan adalah lansia dengan gout artritis dan kriteria usia 60 - 74 tahun yang mengalami nyeri sedang. Penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan pemeriksaan fisik, Studi dokumentasi dan angket menggunakan format askep gerontik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan terjadi penurunan intensitas nyeri dari skala nyeri 6 menjadi skala nyeri 2 dan terjadi penuruan kadar asam urat dari 10,7 mg/dL menjadi 6,8 mg/dL setelah klien diberikan kompres kayu manis sebanyak 1 kali dalam sehari pada pagi hari dan dengan lama perlakuan yaitu 15 menit selama 4 hari secara berturut. Pemberian kompres kayu manis efektif untuk mengatasi masalah keperawatan nyeri akut pada pasien dengan gout arthritis.
