Abstract

ASI Eksklusif adalah pemberian ASI selama 6 bulan tanpa makanan tambahan lain, seperti susu formula, jeruk, madu, air teh, dan air putih, serta tanpa tambahan makanan padat. Banyak manfaat pemberian ASI eksklusif yaitu merupakan nutrisi dengan kualitas dan kuantitas yang terbaik, ASI juga dapat meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh dan meningkatkan kecerdasan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengalaman ibu dalam pemberian ASI eksklusif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah fenomenologi. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling dengan jumlah partisipan 7 orang. Waktu penelitian ini dari bulan September sampai dengan Desenber 2018. Hasil penelitian bahwa ada delapan kategori pengalaman ibu dalam pemberian ASI eksklusif yaitu faktor pendukung, keuntungan, kendala, interval, perasaan ibu dalam pemberian ASI eksklusif, cara ibu meningkatkan ASI, teknik menyusui dan cara mengetahui bayi cukup mendapatkan ASI. Kepada ibu yang baru melahirkan dianjurkan untuk memberikan ASI eksklusif kepada bayinya. Keluarga termasuk suami, ibu/ibu mertua  agar mendukung dalam memberikan ASI eksklusif.
