Abstract

IMD bermanfaat bagi ibu karena dapat membantu mempercepat proses pemulihan pasca persalinan. Dalam 1 jam kehidupan pertama bayi dilahirkan ke dunia, bayi dipastikan untuk mendapatkan kesempatan melakukan IMD. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini (IMD) terhadap keberhasilan ASI eksklusif di Puskesmas Gunung Tua Kabupaten Padang Lawas Utara. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional study. pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purvosive sampling dan didapatkan 56 sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Inisiasi Menyusu Dini Dengan Pemberian Asi Eksklusif (sig = 0,011< α=0,05). Nilai Odds ratio yang dihasilkan sebesar 4,359 artinya bahwa ibu yang melakukan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini memiliki peluang memberikan ASI Ekslusif 4,359 kali lebih besar dibandingkan ibu yang tidak melakukan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini. Kesimpulan diperoleh bahwa inisiasi menyusu dini (IMD) berhubungan dengan pemberian ASI Eksklusif pada bayi. Saran bagi ibu menyusui agar melakukan inisiasi menyusu dini (IMD) segera setelah bayi lahir.
