Abstract

Berdasarkan World Health Organization (WHO) menyatakan bahwa HIV/AIDS masih menjadi masalah kesehatan global dan tercatat sebagai penyebab kematian 32 juta orang di dunia. Hingga saat ini HIV/ AIDS masih tetap menjadi momok yang menakutkan bagi dunia, HIV /AIDS menjadi salah satu epidemik paling menghancurkan dan menjadi masalah multinasional yang amat sangat serius. Pengetahuan tentang HIV menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab HIV karena ketidaktahuannya. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengetahuan calon pengantin dan pelaksanaan Tes HIV di Puskesmas Sadabuan Kota Padangsidimpuan. Jenis penelitian yaitu kuantitatif dengan desain Cross Sectional. Jumlah sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan jumlah 50 responden. Hasil penelitian diketahui pengetahuan calon pengantin tentang HIV/AIDS dan pelaksanaan tes HIV. Hasil penelitian diperoleh pengetahuan mayoritas kategori kurang dan mayoritas tidak melakukan tes HIV. Diharapkan bagi responden yang memiliki pengetahuan kurang, dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang HIV/AIDS dengan berbagai informasi kesehatan melalui media sosial maupun media cetak.
