GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN KELUARGA TENTANG MODIFIKASI DIET BAGI PENDERITA DIABETES MELLITUS TIPE II DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS BATUNADUA KOTA PADANGSIDIMPUAN TAHUN 2022

Faktor resiko utama yang mempengaruhi terjadinya DM adalah pola makan yang tidak sehat dimana mereka cenderung terus mengkomsumsi karbohidrat dan makan dari makanan yang sumber glukosanya secara berlebihan, sehingga menaikan kadar glukosa darah.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan keluarga tentang modifikasi diet bagi penderita DM Tipe II diwilayah kerja puskesmas batunadua kota padangsidempuan 2022. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriftif korelatif. Populasi adalah seluruh penderita DM tipe 2 dipuskesmas batunadua sebayak 216 orang. Tehnik sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 140 orang. Analisa univariat untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik masing-masing variabel penelitian. Hasilnya adalah tingkat pengetahuan keluarga tentang memodifikasi diet pada penderita diabetes mellitus tipe II yaitu kurang, sebanyak 59.3%, pengetahuan baik sebanyak 40.7%. Maka dapat disimpulkan kurangnya pengetahuan keluarga tentang memodifikasi diet bagi penderita DM tipe II yang mengakibatkan gula darah tidak terkontrol stabil atau dipertahankan di angka normal. Disarankan hasil penelitian ini dapat menambah pengetahuan responden dan dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri serta pengetahuan masyarakat agar mampu melakukan upaya pencegahan komplikasi dari DM dan dapat dijadikan sebagai perawatan mandiri.
